The world's first jet suit-wearing medic（穿噴氣服的醫(yī)生）could be coming to the Lake District in the United Kingdom.
Using the jet suit，a 25-minute hike was changed into a flight lasting just 90 seconds，according to the Great North Air Ambulance Service（GNAAS），which worked on the project with jet suit producer Gravity Industries.
The jet suit could be a game changer given the dangerous geographical characteristics in the area，which is popular with hikers.
"We think this technology could allow our team to reach some patients much quicker than ever before，" Andy Mawson，director of operations at GNAAS，said. "In some cases this would save patients' lives."
GNAAS and Gravity Industries were in talks for a year ahead of the planned test，which was carried out at the Langdale Pikes，with Gravity Industries founder Richard Browning flying from the bottom to a simulated casualty site（模擬事故現(xiàn)場(chǎng)）on top of a hill.
The Lake District is home to some of England's highest mountains.Mawson thought the Lakes，in northern England，would be a good place for the test after studying emergency call data（緊急救援電話）.
"It showed many patients every month within the small area，" said Mawson. "We could see the need.What we didn't know for sure was how this would work in practice.Well，we've seen it now and it is，quite honestly，great." Mawson believes the jet suit will play an important role in providing critical care（緊急救援） for people in faraway areas.
Browning said it was a "wonderful" experience to work with GNAAS. "This is just the beginning in terms of what is possible to achieve with our technology，" said Browning. "Dealing with emergencies is one of the areas Gravity are actively working on."
Browning told CNN about his jet suit invention in 2018.He built it using 3 D-printed parts，specialist electronics and five jet engines.Once you learn about the basics，you can fly at speeds of 32 miles per hour.Importantly，it can also be used safely without having to fly too high.
