2821.Sasha Olsen,a fourth-grader at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale,is working on releasing a book this summer to illustrate how the state of the ocean affects children.
The 10-year-old went on a trip last summer with her family to Vietnam and Japan. She was horrified at the ocean's pollution levels and dying sea animals.Back home, she grew even more disturbed after learning about the ocean conditions in South Florida. She sought help from her cousin Narmina Aliyev.Together, they started a nonprofit group,I want my ocean back,in October.
Originally, the group started small, with friends coming together on the weekends to clean the beaches in Bal Harbour.Recently, however,it has hosted events to raise funds for beach cleanups and donate to conservation groups. The nonprofit group is also trying to broaden its base by tapping into the social media.
Sasha has started a channel where she posts videos from events and has begun a web series called Table Talks. In it,she interviews people from different professions about the ocean. After the interview she and her guest will create a painting, signed by the guest, which will be auctioned (拍賣) off to raise money to donate to conservation-based organizations.
Jencarlos Canela,a popular Cuban American singer and telenovela star, was one of I want my oceanback's first followers and Sasha's first guest.Canela, who has 3.4 million followers on Instagram, posted about the experience."Sasha, you can count on me from now on for anything and congratulations on the work you're doing to keep our ocean clean. You are so special and very talented!" he wrote.
Sasha and Aliyev hope to extend their work to neighboring cities such as Hollywood and Miami Beach."We really want to make ourselves visible and accessible to all," said Aliyev, the nonprofit group's vice president.

It happened發(fā)布:2024/5/23 20:38:36組卷:5引用:1難度:0.72829.Australia has thrown open its doors to 18-to-30-year-old people who want to live their dream of a working holiday in Australia. One of the most rewarding ways to do this is to work your way around the country getting jobs quickly and eagerly on the Harvest Trail from the Top-end to Tasmania.
The best resource available for a working holiday is the government website:jobsearch.gou.au.Here you will find access to hundreds of "Harvest Jobs" currently available throughout Australia.Bear in mind that harvesting fruit, vegetables and crops can often involve climbing ladders, standing, kneeling, lying or sitting so you will need to have a reasonable level of fitness.
If the Harvest Trail doesn't appeal to you, there is plenty of other work for you to take. For example, you only have to walk into a major shopping center and look for little signs on the bottom of shop windows that advertise vacant positions. There you can apply for a job and get it immediately.By the way,the hospitality and tourism industries are also one of the largest employers offering thousands of jobs.
It's a good idea to always have a copy of your resume with you, because you'll never know when you will need it.You can also browse online through the biggest job board in the country:seek.com.jye.ai.
Backpacking is a great way to live cheap and find accommodation easily. You'll also find job boards at backpackers and hostels everywhere you go,which advertise the latest work on offer in the local area. This makes it so easy to hop from one job to the next, taking advantage not only of the job boards, but also word of mouth from other travelers who are doing exactly the same as you.
Getting around is easier if you have your own vehicle,of course, but travel in Australia is well catered for with a network of Greyhound coaches and excellent train options to most areas. You may even be able to share travel expenses as you get to know others with their own transport, particularly to and from work sites.
