Mary has always been by my side since my earliest age I could remember.The time I spent with her on our way to school was always the happiest memory for me.However,after the hospital told her that she had a serious cancer,we could no longer go to school together.I started the second semester of tenth grade on my own.Day by day,she became weaker and I felt like she was going away leaving me alone.
One day,when I woke up to go to school,Mary didn't.She had passed away in her sleep during the night.After she was laid to rest,I went back to school,but I didn't care much to be there at all.Then there came my darkest days when I felt like doing nothing and talking to nobody but floating(漂?。﹊n the ocean of sadness of losing her.
Since it was a new semester,my teacher didn't know me very well.My English teacher,Miss Jones,however,noticed that something was unusual.One day she asked me to meet her after class. "You always seem lost," she said. "Your mind is always someplace else during class."
I told her the reason I came to school every day.It was because I could be with Mary.Now she wasn't there.I didn't really feel I need to come anymore.Then she said, "well,could you please just do me a favor.I want you to meet me in my office today during the free period." So I met her,just to talk.Afterwards,she said, "Meet me tomorrow,the same time." And I did so the next day.She had me meet her during her after-class time,I helped her mark papers,check homework and we talked.
